THAILAND, 19th November 2018, (NNT) - A large number of people have registered for the "Bike Un Ai Rak" event, which will be held on December 9th.

Residents of Phuket gathered in the early hours of November 19th, the first day of event registration, at the province's community hall to put their names down for the event. Registration is also available online.

The province last year hosted a similar cycling event which saw participants ride for a distance of 29 kilometers. This year, the organizer decided to reduce the distance to 27 kilometers to avoid construction sites. Two rehearsals will be held on November 25th and December 2nd.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, a senior cyclist, San Akesawai , rode his bike for 20 kilometers to the province's City Hall to register for the December 9th event. The veteran cyclist said he is able to ride hundreds of kilometers, despite his age.

Residents of Saraburi are converging on the government complex in the capital district to complete their registration. On the day, cyclists will travel 29 kilometers on the same route as that used for the Bike for Mom and Bike for Dad events, which started at the City Hall and ended at Wat Phraphutthachai .

In Uthai Thani, many participants said that the reason for them joining the nationwide event is to foster unity among fellow citizens.
