NONG KHAI, 19th November 2018 (NNT) – Tourists have flocked to the country’s high points to make the most of the cool weather.

Many visitors to Nong Khai province climbed to the top of Phu Nong in Sangkom district to see a sea of mist covering the Mekong River separating Thailand from Lao PDR. Incerased humidity in the area has made the morning phenomenon particularly impressive.

The district’s Phu Pa Dak also provided a view of the mist shrouded river, but has proven less popular due to requiring an 800 meter climb led by a local guide. The mountain top is averaging visits by about 50 people each morning.

In Chiang Mai province, popular mountains such as Doi Inthanon have attracted many visitors with temperatures dropping to as low as 7 degrees Celsius. The famous Kew Mae Panviewpoint is now at about 10 degrees Celsius in the morning.

At Huay Nam Dang National Park in the province’s Mae Tang district, visitors have set up tents and camped in the area of Uang Ngun Palace , making the most of 16 degree Celsius temperatures and morning mists.
