This is a really good question. Are our cultures so diverse that it makes a difference? Or are we all humans, having the same basic needs and wants, and thus culture is not such a big factor?

I think there are definite differences in the ways of thinking between Thais and, say, myself as an Australian. But these are not big things. There are differences in doing business. In Thailand, there is much emphasis placed on relationships and building close ties. In the west things are definitely more business-oriented. Our work life is our work life; after that we leave it and enter our personal life. In Thailand, those two lives are blurred and often overlap. In Thailand we start at the top and he or she orders "down" to her subordinates. I think in the west we do it more the other way.

Westerners are definitely more on time than Thais. We understand deadlines better.

That's about all I can think of now. Would anybody like to add anything?

Andrew
